Grab your paddling pals, lock in your place, and get ready for a summer weekend packed with paddling, laughter, learning and unforgettable memories on and off the water. From white water thrills and sea adventures to chilled flat water sessions, yoga on SUPs and live music by the river, our She Paddles Cymru weekend at Llandysul Paddlers has something for everyone.

10th to 12th July at Llandysul Paddlers


Set in the heart of West Wales, this three day event is all about confidence, community and having fun in a supportive and welcoming environment, whatever your paddling background.

What’s the plan for the weekend


Friday 10 July

  • 4 pm to 8 pm - Ease into the weekend with an arrival day designed to get everyone settled and paddling
  • Check in - 5.30 pm to 7 pm - Lake and river paddle. Friday night paddling is not led by a coach or leader. To join the white water session you must be a competent paddler and comfortable on white water.
  • 8 pm - Welcome talk and ice breaker games
  • A relaxed and friendly way to meet fellow paddlers and kick off the weekend together.


Saturday 11 July

A full day of workshops, learning and fun, followed by an evening of rolling, food and live music:

  • 7 am to 8 am - Breakfast
  • 9.30 am to 12 pm - Workshop 1
  • 12 pm to 1.30 pm - Lunch (Lunch is not provided, but there is a supermarket just a short walk away).
  • 1.30 pm to 4 pm - Workshop 2
  • 6 pm to 8 pm - Rolling session at the local swimming pool (You will be split into hour sessions, organised on the day).
  • 7 pm to 8 pm - Evening meal
  • 9 pm to midnight - Live music from Rich Lee

Saturday workshop options

  • White water thrills - For those who love moving water or want to build confidence on it.
  • Progression - Ready to take your kayaking to the next level? This session is ideal if you already have some experience and want to build skills and confidence to push a little further.
  • Arking - A chilled float down a peaceful river. Relax, take in the surroundings and enjoy an easy going river journey.
  • River swimming - Love swimming and want to feel more confident in moving water? Learn how to swim into eddies and get comfortable with those moments when you might capsize. Spoiler alert, it can be fun.
  • Hotdogging - Always dreamed of white water kayaking but never taken the plunge? This beginner friendly session is a fun and exciting introduction to white water.


Flat water adventures

  • SUP Yoga - A relaxed and enjoyable way to experience yoga on the water, building balance, mindfulness and confidence.
  • SUP Polo - Water polo meets lacrosse on an inflatable SUP. Splashy, energetic and guaranteed to get you wet.
  • Freestyle - Get into your freestyle flow with coaching from the GB Freestyle team and learn new moves to build skills and style on the water.
  • Kayak confidence building - Feeling nervous about kayaking? Join Hannah H, our She Paddles Cymru volunteer, for a supportive session focused on tackling fears and building confidence.


Rolling

Rolling sessions will take place at the local pool. You will be allocated an hour session on the day.


Sunday 12 July

Choose a full day adventure to end the weekend on a high.

7 am to 8 am - Breakfast

9.30 am to 4 pm - Full day workshops


Sunday workshop options

Sea adventures

  • Sit on top kayak sea trip - Never tried sea kayaking? This laid back beginner friendly trip explores the stunning Welsh coastline and local wildlife.
  • Sea kayaking - For those with experience who want a more adventurous coastal paddle, taking on waves and exploring further afield.
  • Coasteering - If you fancy something adrenaline filled, this saltwater playground includes scrambling, swimming and cliff jumps along the Welsh coast.


White water

White water trip - An all day white water adventure. Choose from canoe, kayak, hotdog or sit on top and enjoy a full day of paddling and splashing on the river.


Flat water

Flat water kayak and canoe trip - Perfect if you are in the mood for a scenic, peaceful paddle with good company and a relaxed pace.


Stay on site at Llandysul Paddlers


Fun Day
Stick around for a day of non stop fun at Llandysul Paddlers, with the chance to try different crafts and make the most of being on the water.

The British Canoeing Awarding Body has launched the next review of the BCAB Coach Award, and we’re encouraging the paddlesport community in Wales to get involved and share their views.

The lack of rain places a great strain on the environment and our sport. The dry spell is already impacting our waterways, where we are seeing low river levels that could affect fish and wildlife. Therefore, it is important to follow guidelines when you are either considering paddling or when you are on the water.
