Huge congratulations to Sadie Sterry and Gwion Williams for their incredible achievements in securing their spots on Team GB Slalom!

Sadie Sterry has earned her place on the GBR U23 Team in C1 Canoe Slalom! Competing in the fiercely competitive U23 C1 category, Sadie showed incredible resilience from the start, staying right in the mix with the top 4 at the Lee Valley opener. But it all came down to the final race, final run at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham... and under huge pressure, Sadie delivered an absolutely incredible run to secure her spot on Team GBR! What. A. Moment. We’re so proud of you, Sadie!

And a massive congratulations to Gwion Williams who has officially secured his spot on Team GB for both Junior K1 Slalom and Junior Kayak Cross! Gwion kicked off the selection series with a dominant performance at Lee Valley, taking 1st Junior in both Slalom races and smashing four faultless wins in Kayak Cross time trials and head-to-heads! He kept the momentum rolling with two stellar performances at the final slalom races in Nottingham to lock in his place on the squad. We’re unbelievably proud, well done, Gwion!

Congratulations to both Sadie Sterry and Gwion Williams for their outstanding performances and achievements!

Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and we can't wait to see them represent Team GB Slalom in their respective categories. The future is looking bright for these talented athletes!

Mae caiacio môr yn ffordd wych o fwynhau cyfarfyddiadau â bywyd gwyllt, boed yn balod ar Sgomer, morloi oddi ar Ben y Gogarth neu ddolffiniaid ym Mae Aberteifi. Fodd bynnag, mae un creadur arall rydw i bob amser wedi bod eisiau ei weld, ac mae'n annhebygol y bydd yn digwydd ar arfordir Cymru, a dyna forfil. Mae gweld y rhain o gaiac môr yn gofyn am ychydig o gynllunio, o bosibl rhywfaint o deithio dramor a dos da o lwc. Dyna sut y cefais fy hun yn Baja, Mecsico’r llynedd, gyda bag o faw ar fy nec, pothelli ar fy nwylo a rhywfaint o'r bywyd gwyllt gorau rydw i erioed wedi'i weld. O, a gyda Pete. Roeddwn i'n cario rhywfaint o'i faw.

Sea kayaking is a great way to enjoy encounters with wildlife, whether it’s puffins on Skomer, seals off the Orme or dolphins in Cardigan Bay. However, there’s one other creature that I’ve always wanted to see, and it’s unlikely it will happen on the Welsh coastline, and that’s a whale. To see these from a sea kayak requires a bit of planning, potentially some overseas travel and a good dose of luck. Which is how I wound up in Baja, Mexico last year, with a bag of poop on my deck, blisters on my hands and some of the best wildlife I’ve ever encountered. Oh, and with Pete. It was some of his poop I was carrying.
