This autumn, Paddle Cymru is bringing clubs, coaches and volunteers together through a series of development events designed to support the growth of paddlesport across Wales.

Whether you're looking to develop coaching knowledge, introduce new activities at your club, improve safety practices, explore environmental initiatives or simply connect with others from across the paddlesport community, our Autumn Club Development Programme offers something for everyone.

Taking place across Wales and online throughout November, these events combine practical learning, shared experiences and the latest updates from the Paddle Cymru team.


Club Development Day

Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Centre - 7 November 2026

Our first Club Development Day features a wide range of workshops covering coaching pathways, river leadership, club photography and videography, sustainability, Stand Up Paddleboarding, youth development and bank-based rescue skills.


Topics Include

  • River Leader Tips & Tricks
  • Choosing the Right Coaching Course for Your Club
  • Paddle Cymru and Sustainability
  • Photography & Videography: Capture, Create, Inspire
  • Bringing SUP to Your Club
  • Introduction to the Paddle Cymru Youth Programme
  • Bank-Based Rescues


The day is designed to provide practical ideas and inspiration that can be taken back and implemented within clubs and communities across Wales.

Cost: £35 per person (including lunch)

Please note: There will be open lake and sessions available for kids if their parents are coming along to the event, this is to help with childcare.

Club Development Day

Newtown - 14 November 2026

The second Club Development Day focuses on developing confident coaches, celebrating neurodiverse coaching success stories, introducing the Paddle Cymru Youth Programme, exploring opportunities for SUP development and sharing practical approaches to safety, sustainability and club growth.

  • Bring SUP to Your Club
  • Celebrating Neurodiverse Coaches
  • Introduction to the Paddle Cymru Youth Programme
  • Bank-Based Rescues
  • Paddle Cymru and Sustainability


Attendees will have opportunities to learn from experienced practitioners, exchange ideas and discover support available through Paddle Cymru.

Paddle Cymru Club Forum - Online via Zoom

24 November 2026 | 7:00pm - 9:00pm

To round off the programme, clubs are invited to join our free online Club Forum.


This informal evening session provides an opportunity to hear the latest updates from across Paddle Cymru, including funding opportunities, coaching and leadership developments, environmental and access work, marketing and communications activity, and updates from our performance disciplines.

  • SFD discussion
  • Coaching and Leadership update
  • Environment and Access update

  • Open forum and questions


The final session of the evening will provide an opportunity to ask questions and discuss topics that matter to your club. To help us provide the most detailed responses possible, we encourage attendees to submit questions in advance where possible. The evening will also include an open forum session, giving clubs the opportunity to ask questions directly to the team and discuss issues affecting paddlesport in Wales.

Every time I dip a paddle into a river, I'm reminded that water connects us all. The rain falling on a hillside. The stream running through a village. The river winding its way to the sea. What happens upstream never really stays upstream. It flows onwards, carrying everything with it. That includes the things we choose to flush down the toilet.
