Help Improve the Development and Participation of Paddlesports in Wales.

What does this committee do?

The committee provides guidance and oversight for Paddle Cymru development programmes, focusing on club development, equity, safeguarding, and engagement with underrepresented groups. It supports initiatives like #ShePaddles, Disability access, and Youth Engagement. It oversees the design and implementation of participation programmes, and promotes safe practices through safeguarding education and training. The committee also engages with non-Olympic disciplines, manages member and community events, and works to boost participation in national events and additionally, it advises the Board on strategic decisions and reviews key documents related to these areas.

Paddle Cymru is excited to announce openings for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Development and Participation Sub-Committee. We are seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and motivated individuals who want to make a difference in the paddling community and help enhance access to paddling in Wales.


Who We’re Looking For:

  • People with an interest or link to one of the non olympic disciplines of Paddle Cymru including wildwater racing, freestyle, surf, polo, 
  • Representatives from various regions across Wales
  • Individuals who can advocate for their local paddling community, club, or centre
  • People who are passionate about paddlesport and have creative ideas about increasing our participation
  • A member of Paddle Cymru


Whether you're an experienced paddler or simply passionate about developing paddlesports and participation in Wales, we want to hear from you!

Paddle Cymru is an inclusive organisation, and we are currently working with a Sport Wales mentor on the Moving to Inclusion Framework and Silver accreditation in the Disability Sport Wales Insport Programme to ensure the culture of the organisation is inclusive and we are fostering a space where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents. We want to create a sense of belonging for all’.
